parallel transmittance
The degree to which light beams reflected from an
object pass through a material, such as paper,
within a predetermined small range of angles. It
is measured by means of a standardized instrument
designed specifically for the purpose. Parallel
transmittance is important in determining the
transparency of transparent papers, i.e., the more
parallel the light beams, approaching 0°
angle, the more transparent the paper. (17 )
