opacimeter
An instrument used to measure opacity. It is, in
effect, a reflectometer designed especially to
measure the opacity of paper. The reflectance of
the sheet is first measured using a black
background and then with a standard white
background behind it. The instrument can be
designed to give the ratio of the two measurements
