offset paper

A printing paper designed for use in offset lithography. The offset printing process is based on the antipathy of grease (ink) for water, consequently offset paper must be free from excess water soluble chemicals and particularly surface active agents. The paper, which may be coated or uncoated, is produced in basis weights of 50 to 150 pounds (25 X 38). Uncoated offset paper may be used for periodicals, brochures, etc., and for single or multi-color work. (52 , 58 , 182 )
