oak-bark tanned

A lightweight, unbleached, bark-tanned leather, which is defined as having been pit-tanned, without hot-pitting, for not less than 5 to 6 months. The process involves layering the skins for not less than 6 months, with OAK bark being used as the basis for tannage. (61 )
