nicked corner
The corner of the cover of a book which has the
turn-in on the fore edge overlapping the turn-in
at head and tail. This type of corner is made by
cutting the covering material at a 45°
angle at a distance of about three times the
thickness of the board from the corner. The head
and tail are turned over first, followed by the
fore edge. A small tuck forms a smooth edge at the
corner. (150 )
