music manuscript ( music paper )
A paper printed with staff lines and used for the
writing of musical scores. It is produced from rag
and/or bleached chemical wood pulps. It is stiff
enough to stand in a music rack and has a surface
that will take pencil or pen and ink. Basis
weights generally from 60 to 80 pounds (25 X
38) or 24 to 30 pounds (17 X
22). Erasability is an important
characteristic. Music printings are used for
reproducing music, and are produced mainly from
bleached chemical wood pulp. The paper is well
formed and is sized and processed to insure good
pick strength and minimum curl. The basis weights
range from 60 to 90 pounds (25 X 38). (17 )
