journeyman bookbinder
A bookbinder who has learned the aspects of the
trade of bookbinding. The term "journeyman" refers
to the previous practice of workmen journeying
from place to place to work in different shops in
order to acquire a thorough and comprehensive
knowledge of the craft. The term no longer has
much significance in the United States, although
it is used in some trades in describing a person
who has completed a training program.
