iron acetates

Ferric acetate (Fe(CH 3 CO 2 ) 3 ), and ferrous acetate (FE(CH 3 CO 2 ) 2 ), deep red and pale green respectively and used, largely in the 19th century, to treat leather bindings for "sprinkled" and "tree" effects. See also:TREE CALF .
