Unbound printed sheets, especially when unfolded. The term is also used loosely to indicate sheets that have been processed up to the point of folding and gathering. "In sheets" is gradually superseding "in quires," with which it is synonymous. See also: QUIRE (2) ; SHEET STOCK .
