first edition
The entire number of copies of a book or other
publication printed from the same setting of type.
The books may be printed at any time. A new
edition does not come into being until there have
been substantial changes in the type, i.e., a
corrected edition, additions to the text (which is
a revised edition), or until the type has been
reset, which would be a new edition, 2nd edition,
etc. (69 , 156 )
