1. Decorative patterns, generally of a geometric shape, made of cloth, leather, paper, etc., and pasted to the covers of a book. See also:INLAY (4) ; ONLAY . 2. Special shapes of irregular pieces of paper or board cut out from printed matter by means of steel dies. (139 , 183 )
