chlorine dioxide
A heavy, explosive gas. (ClO 2 ),
produced by the action of chlorine or sodium
chlorite, and used in bleaching paper pulp from a
water solution, usually in one or more of the
final stages of multi-stage sequence. See also: CHLORINE .
