bolt knife

One of the two types of knives that can be used for cutting the edges of books with the PLOW . The bolt knife is fastened to the shoe of the plow, consequently its position cannot be changed, as can that of the SLIDING KNIFE . The sliding type is less expensive and easier to attach, and has almost completely superceded the bolt type.
