Seattle

George Tsutakawa was an important artist in the Pacific Northwest region. The Japanese-American artist was born in Seattle and grew up in Japan. He drew inspiration for his art from the similar geography of Japan and Puget Sound—the sea, mountains, and forests. In 1987, Tsutakawa presented King County with his abstract sculpture Sandworm. Made from stainless steel, the sculpture is a curving, tubular shape that resembles a burrowing worm. What do you think it looks like?
