Seattle
Seattle artist Jack Mackie created Dance Steps on Broadway in 1982 as part of a project to improve Seattle's Broadway District. Eight different dance patterns, including the mambo, tango, foxtrot, and waltz, are inlaid in the sidewalk, four on each side of the street for five blocks. There are plaques next to each dance pattern that give instructions such as "slow, quick, quick, slow" for the mambo.
