New York
New York City, the largest city in the nation, was the original capital of the United States. On April 30, 1789, it was the site of George Washington's inauguration as the first U.S. President.
While the Big Apple boasts more than 650 sculptures, the other 2,000 pieces of outdoor sculpture scattered throughout the state should not be ignored. It took 600 volunteers to cross the Empire State to find that over 1,000 of these sculptures need preservation.
