Wallace

John Mullan Statue (1918)
by Edgar Samuel Paxson
A series of John Mullan Statues lie along the 624-mile stretch of road that crosses Idaho's Panhandle. Lt. John Mullan led both civilian and military crews from 1859 to 1862 in the construction of a trail that now bears his name, the Mullan Road.

The same sculpture that is in Wallace is also in Post Falls, Fourth of July Pass, Kellogg, Wallace, Mullan, and St. Maries, Idaho. If you find these towns on your map, then you can see the path of the Mullan Road.
