Alaska
SOS! volunteers documented and photographed 207 outdoor sculptures in Alaska. Of that total, 151 are in need of some form of treatment. Alaskan sculpture ranges from historic and modern totem poles made by Native American artists to artworks memorializing famous people and animals. Two major Alaskan sculptures observing these themes are We Didn't Know it Couldn't be Done in Valdez and Patsy-Ann in Juneau. Other sculptures celebrate Alaska's natural wonders such as the Aurora Borealis.
