Oshkosh
Soldier's Monument, Gaetano Trentanove, 1907
This sculpture was made to honor and remember Wisconsin men who fought in the Civil War. The man who donated this sculpture to the city of Oshkosh, John Hicks, wanted the city to remember his dad, who was killed during the war. Often sculptures are made to remember people or events. If you made a sculpture today, what event or person would you want remembered? Try drawing a picture of your sculpture.
