Vanishing Race (Djey el Djey, 1936)
Made of concrete, this schoolyard sculpture moved from vandalized to preserved with the
help of parents, teachers, and students. Conservation happened right at the school.
Students watched their beautiful artwork emerge with patience and skill as the
conservation professionals carefully removed dirt and layers of paint.
