388 Golden Bear volunteers surveyed 2,289 outdoor sculptures in 58 counties. Some volunteers were college students; others were with the Bank of America and the San Diego Urban Corps. The earliest sculpture,"Mystery Angel" by an unknown sculptor, dates from around 1840. It is made from sandstone. The most recent might be going up as you read this!
