This isn’t exactly a conservation question, but I
wondered if any of you have ever heard the term “suitout coat,” “seatout
coat,” or “sentout coat?” We are trying to decipher a
document from 1824 that is difficult to read. I am not familiar with any
of these, or similar terms. Perhaps if you don’t know the term you
might be able to direct me to someone that could help? Thank you.
