Re: hangers

All:

A few years ago I had a thousand specialty hangers made for me out of pure
polypropylene. I had them made with a an extra long (six inch) epoxy-painted
steel hook. They were all sold to textile conservators, and as far as I
know, everybody was happy. I sold some unbleached cotton and polyester pads
at the same time, but will not do this again.

The mould with the wide shoulders is usually used for fur garments, so the
hangers (in polystyrene) are available from companies that supply the fur
industry.

I would commission another batch of polypropylene hangers if I knew I could
presell them. They are less prone to crack than polystyrene. (My
understanding at the time was that polypropylene was preferred to
polystyrene for its stability.)

Your cost could be as low as $2.00 each (depending on my production costs),
and the minimum order would be a carton of 100 pcs. Orders of more than 200
pcs would be a little cheaper.

Please let me know if anybody is interested.
