Re: fiber identification

Jennifer - I really like Identification of Textile Materials, published by the Textile Institute, Machester, UK.  It has excellent photomicrographs.   It is currently out of print so you may have to search for a used copy.  The original date of publication was 1951 but it has been reviseded and corrected numerous times, the most recent in 1999.  I have the 1975 edition, revised in 1985.    For microscopic identification I also use a "Fiber Reference Set" of 100 prepared slides that I purchased from McCrone. (www.mccrone.com).

Subject: fiber identification

We are in the process of updating our museum library.  I would like to add a book about fiber identification to our collection.  I would really like one that focuses on microscopic identification with images of many different fibers.  Does anyone know of any good books on this subject?

Thank you!
