My favorite tacking iron is the Century iron- you just have to check the temp's because they're a little off from the markings on the dial (my iron's actual temperature is lower than the setting on the dial). I like the head shape with its smoothly rounded edges. For smaller uses, with interchangeable tips, I believe the Willard irons are the best- worth every penny. I think they are available from Conservation Resources.
