RE: Special Order of Conservation Quality Garment Hangers

Jerry, put me down for 50 hangers and 25 pads.  You can consider this a definite commitment.

Subject: Special Order of Conservation Quality Garment Hangers

Thanks to everyone who responded to our Hanger Survey last spring. Our respondents were quite varied in their descriptions of their dream hanger. Based on the survey's questions we are now prepared to offer the following hanger that we feel can be adapted to most needs.

HANGER DESCRIPTION:
The 16 ½ inch wide hangers will be made of polypropylene (this plastic will not emit harmful gases as will wood and some other plastics). These hangers will have extra wide shoulders (5/16 inch at the neck, flaring to 1 3/8 inches about 2 inches from the shoulder tips). The extra width at the ends of the shoulders will help to spread the weight more evenly.
Hangers will have plated steel necks measuring around 6 3/4 inches from the top of the hook to the top of the hanger (10 inches from the top of the hook to the bottom of the hanger). This should be adequate for most high collars.
The hanger's shoulders will be sloped at approximately 20 degrees from the horizontal, which is slightly more than the usual slope of modern garment hangers. While this slope is not as severe as some modern hangers for women's suits, it will allow for modification by the addition of padding.
The hangers may be easily cut with a finetoothed saw and smoothed with a file or sandpaper to size.

QUILTED PADS FOR HANGERS:
We will also offer quilted pads to be used with the hangers, measuring 18 inches long by 14 inches wide by approximately 1/4 inch thick. The pads will be made of starch and finish-free, unbleached cotton, with a resin and starchfree polyester filling. These generously-sized pads may be pierced, cut, folded, stacked, machine-sewn, hand-basted, glued, wrapped, or tied to the hangers as you see fit. (You may use one or many layers, make a roll around the shoulders, use them for filling sleeves, etc.) With some practice, these should save time and money.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY:
The hangers will be packaged in boxes of 50 pieces at US$190.00/ box ($3.80/ hanger). Pads will also be packaged in boxes of 25 pads at $160.00/ box ($6.40/ pad) No other package sizes, hangers or pads will be available. Price does not include shipping.

STRINGS ATTACHED:
But here’s the rub... Due to the fact that I will be placing custom orders directly from the manufacturers, I will proceed with the wholesale order only when I have purchase orders for a total of at least 1,200 hangers! As well, we will need an order of at least 300 pads in order to have them assembled and quilted. If you wish to participate, please notify us of your intentions as soon as possible. (We encourage you to find other buyers split a box with a friend!)

I don’t want to keep stock, but I may be persuaded if these seems to be a demand. Please let me know if you intend to make a similar purchase within the next year, so I can make appropriate plans.
