[padg] IMLS Doctoral Preservation Fellowships

Title: IMLS Doctoral Preservation Fellowships
UT Austin School of Information Recruiting Doctoral Preservation Fellows

In 2006, the University of Texas at Austin School of Information launched an innovative PhD Fellowship initiative to educate doctoral students in the broad field of library and archives preservation and conservation.  With a second generous grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the School is able to offer significant living stipends and full tuition to full-time doctoral students for three years.  We are accepting applications until November 15, 2008 for studies to begin in fall 2009.
The primary goal of the PhD Preservation Fellowship initiative is to produce doctoral graduates prepared to meet the preservation education, research, and leadership challenges of the 21st century, and who will serve as faculty members in preservation, as preservation researchers, and in leading administrative positions in libraries and archives.

We are interested in applicants whose academic and professional backgrounds might include preservation administration, conservation, archives, digital libraries, digital preservation, moving image and recorded sound preservation, museum studies, and information policy, to name a few.  If you are interested in learning more about the fellowships and application details, please visit:
