RE: [padg] Safe paint
Check the NARA TIP 13. It lists acceptable finishes and sealants for
archival storage areas. It's available on line.

Subject: [padg] Safe paint
This is a request that I received today.
"We have an archives basement room. We need to have it painted by our
maintenance department, but I want to make sure it is
painted with the right kind of paint, so it doesn't hurt our books.
Could you please recommend something that would be suitable, so our
books will not
be hurt by the paint, or could you recommend someone who could point me
in the right direction. "
I don't know of any specific information about painting walls, but my
inclination is to follow the same guidelines one would use for storage
furniture as listed on NEDCC's "Storage Furniture" leaflet.

ture.php
Does anyone have any other suggestions specific non-damaging wall
paint?
thanks,
