We are looking for an experienced Conservator to manage the day-to-day operations of the Conservation Laboratory at the National Library of Australia in Canberra. The Preservation Services Branch of the National Library of Australia is responsible for collection maintenance activities that ensure that Australian library materials and highly significant non-Australian materials are available for current and future use. Other materials are maintained in a useable condition for as long as practicable. To achieve this we provide appropriate preventive, conservation treatment and reformatting measures, including digitisation, to identified materials in accordance with the Library’s Preservation Policy. The branch deals with staff at all levels throughout the Library.
