[PADG:1447] Binding options for music scores

All,

I'm collecting data related to binding music scores. Basically, I'd like to
know what criteria determine how your institution binds scores. For
example, do all music scores get some sort of treatment before being shelved
(stiffening, pamphlet binding, commercial binding, or sent to stacks pretty
much as received), or do you have criteria to determine what gets treated
and what does not? Do you automatically commercially bind all music scores?
Do you commercially bind all scores with parts? Do you pamphlet bind any
scores? Do you use thickness or leaf attachment as a determining factor as
to whether you commercially or pamphlet bind?

I'd appreciate any information you could give me about your institution's
practices for binding music scores. Please email me off list
(vheidus@xxxxxxxxx) and I will compile, if there is interest.

Thanks,

Victoria
