Digitization Solutions: NDNP and Beyond

If you are attending ALA Midwinter 2007 in Seattle, then please join OCLC Preservation Services on a newspaper digitization "road trip."

During this program, we will be exploring the newspaper digitization experience,

·        from the planning process;

·        to the major intersections where microfilm or original source material selections are made;

·        next, we'll examine the benefits, uses and limitations associated with the wide range of deliverables available (JPEG2000, TIFF, PDF, etc.)
and help you decide which are necessary for your institution's purposes;

·        then off to discuss the workflow; and

·        on to the final destination, which is the online newspaper presentation system.

The program will consist of a presentation followed by a panel discussion, which will include production and newspaper digitization project experts.

Digitization Solutions: NDNP and Beyond

Monday, January 22, 2007 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
Washington State Convention & Trade Center, Room 620

To register for the program, please visit www.oclc.org/info/ala/.

We hope to see you in Seattle!
