MICROFILMED NEWSPAPERS: SELECTION CRITERIA FOR DIGITIZATION SUCCESS

Are you planning a newspaper digitization project using your microfilm?  Are you seeking funding to undertake a newspaper digitization project using your institution’s microfilm? Are you considering digitizing a newspaper collection from microfilm?  Do you plan on applying for an NDNP grant?

If you answer yes, to any or all of these questions, then we have a panel for you.

This panel discussion will address technical issues for assessing microfilm, how microfilm was selected for a statewide project and for an NDNP project.

Panelists:

Kelly Barrall, Quality Assurance Manager, OCLC Preservation Service Center

Brenda Bailey-Hainer, Director of Networking and Resource Sharing Colorado State Library

Dr. Henry Snyder, Director, California Newspaper Digitization Project
