The National Archives and Records Administration will host its 20th annual
preservation conference
Beyond the Numbers:
Specifying and Achieving
an Efficient Preservation
Environment
Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the National Archives Building in Washington,
DC building on Constitution Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets NW.
The conference will explore how institutions are approaching environmental
control and building design issues given escalating construction costs,
shrinking budgets and the ever-increasing price of energy.
Speakers will include James Reilly from the Image Permanence Institute (Rochester, NY), Richard Kerschner from the Shelburne Museum (Shelburne, VT), Ernest Conrad from the Landmark Facilities Group (Norwalk, CT), Peter Herzog from Herzog, Wheeler and Assoc. (St. Paul, MN), Gail Joice from the National Museum of the American Indian (Washington, DC), William Kline from SmithGroup, Inc as well as preservation and facility managers from the National Archives. The conference will be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Seating is limited, therefore it is recommended that attendees register before March 1, 2006. The standard registration fee is $85.00. A discount $40.00 fee is available for full-time college or university students.
