[PADG:682] Re: Vacuums for stacks cleaning

If it is quiet you need- try re-usable dusting cloths, my assistants prefer it to the vacuum , says they are more efficient at removing dust. Guardsman makes them http://sofasandsuch.home.mchsi.com/Guardsman/GuardsmanDustingCloth.jpg
and we order them from Gaylord and High smith

Karen,
We have been using the Nilfisk Museum Vacuums to our great satisfaction. They have extra long hoses as well.

Dear PADG Colleagues: Can anyone on the list recommend a vacuum cleaner that you have used for cleaning library shelves and general collections? We are looking for something durable (i.e., made for commercial use), and relatively quiet (since we will be cleaning during open hours). In particular, if you have had any luck finding equipment with an extra long hose (more than 6') we'd love to hear from you.
Thank you in advance!
