[PADG:1428] Electronic Records Pre-conference



The Society of Georgia Archivists is pleased to present the following pre
conference to the 2001 SGA Annual  Meeting.

Electronic Records 101
Wednesday, November 7, 2001, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Georgia Music Hall of Fame, Macon, GA  

Electronic Records 101 introduces participants to the principles of
preserving and providing access to records in digital formats. The workshop
focuses on methods and issues in identifying, appraising, accessioning,
providing reference for, and preserving materials in electronic form.  The
workshop is intended for archivists who have a good understanding of
archival principles and techniques, but who need guidance in how to apply
those principles to records in electronic form.  

The instructor for the workshop will be Thomas J. Ruller, applications area
coordinator for the New York State Education Department's Division of
Information Technology Services.  Mr. Ruller is responsible for managing and
coordinating information systems in the State Library, Archives and Museum.


Cost: $75.00 for SGA members; $95.00 for Non-SGA members
