Irene:  I like the draft and have only one suggestion for a change. In the
Federal Legislative Policy section, I would change the word national in the
second sentence to federal.  You use national in the first sentence in
reference to a "national preservation policy" and in the second sentence you
talk about "national, state and local libraries."  I feel the second use of
national blurs the issue and that using federal would clarify that you mean
the national libraries as I am assuming that you are referring to federal
libraries.

Attached are WordPerfect and MS Word versions of the drafted, revised ALA
Preservation Policy.  In preparation for discussion at the ALA annual
conference this summer, I would appreciate your comments and suggested
revisions.  If you can get your replies to me by May 11, I will have time
to revise and send out a new revision to you.
