The PARS Manual says that PARS DG provides "a forum for discussion of 
issues and for sharing information concerning the reformatting and 
preservation of library and archival materials," and that PADG more 
narrowly provides "a forum for discussion of administrative issues and 
developments for preservation administrators."  PARS is often without a 
stated topic, but it is a valuable forum for the topics that do not fit 
under another  DG's umbrella.  Perhaps more importantly, PARS is the place 
where discussion of section-wide concerns, e.g., the updated ALA 
Preservation Policy, can be occur.  I would be more comfortable with 
keeping both of the DGs.  Because PARS DG broader in scope, and is usually 
later in the conference, it would be a more appropriate setting for the 
reporting session than PADG.
