Agenda:

1.  Developing Institutional Standards for Digital Archiving

In the absence of national standards and established recommendations for
digital archiving, individual libraries are confronting the ephemeral
nature of
an increasingly large investment in digital information and seeking ways to
ensure long term access to digital collections.  

Kim Parker, Librarian for Electronic Publishing and Collections, at Yale
University will join Erin Rhodes, Digitization Specialist, at the
University of
Chicago in a panel discussion on developing institutional policies and
standards for digital archiving.

Please feel free to share your ideas and any local policies that your
institutions have developed on this topic.  

2.  This is the last ALA meeting that I will be chairing the PARS Discussion
Group.  If you are interested in serving as   chair, or know someone who might
be, please let me know.  We will take a few minutes at the end of our panel
discussion to elect a new chair.
