Description: The incumbent coordinates image capture and distribution for
CU Libraries; plans and designs digital imaging and related projects for
preservation of and electronic access to rare materials; prepares detailed
specs, work plans and performance requirements for in-house staff and
external contractors; monitors contracts relating to image capture,
control and reporting; coordinates technical aspects of projects to assure
consistency and quality; oversees maintenance and repair of digital
imaging and quality-control equipment (digital and database) and monitors
contracts; assists in selection of new equipment; trains staff in imaging
techniques and supervises work; performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three years' of related
technical/managerial experience in field of image capture and
distribution, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
required. Demonstrated familiarity with database programming or scripting
in support of image conversion or management required. Demonstrated
knowledge of principles and issues of digital imaging, document conversion
or records management necessary. Must have an in-depth technical knowledge
of digital imaging, and excellent analytic, problem solving and
interpersonal skills. Experience with preservation of library materials,
knowledge of quality control techniques relating to digital imaging and
familiarity with imaging metadata is desirable.
