Re: Jacques shears

Our experience with a new (bought new in the 1980s) Jacques shear has
been good except for one problem; the machine had to be partially
dismantled in order to fit into the elevator to be moved into the lab,
and (despite protestations and guarantees from the company) has been
very slightly off square ever since. Since the dismantling only involved
removing and replacing bolts set in metal, it's hard to tell whether the
problem originated in the factory machinning or not, but it's been
impossible to correct.
