Hello Mr. Grunder!

[I started out to make this a private mailing, then decided that perhaps
it would be useful to others at this point.]

No doubt you are now being flooded with responses to your question. It
is, as you probably know but are rhetorically suppressing, because lots
of people on the PADG list are apparently ignorant of the difference
between responding to an individual and responding to the list as a
whole, and the invitation from that benighted newsletter was made to the
list.

In response to Mr. Torres' response to your original response...  it is 
possible to command the list server to offer PADG mail as a
single digest, rather than as separate messages scattered through your
mail. (The Conservation Distlist does so even without making you ask!
It's a great list, too.) 

The command is as follows:
send to 	
	listproc@xxxxxxxxxxxx	 
a message consisting of 
	SET padg@xxxxxxx MAIL DIGEST 
without any subject specification. It works very quickly, as it turns 
out.

I had been complaining to myself every morning as I sat down to
read my mail about the proliferation of IPN responses, as well as the
fact that I couldn't distinguish PADG mail from the rest, but had
forgotton that I had it in my power to do something about
the situation. So I'm glad you complained aloud.
