RE: Functional Objects Meeting?

Not quite what we had in mind for this forum. The focus we are looking at here is technological objects and adopting appropriate lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, hydraulic fluids .............. to solve specific problems of mechanical objects in museums and their use/preservation as both functional and static collection items. There may be some cross overs, such as inhibited protective coatings for used metal objects?

Hi David and Marcelle,
I think that the GOCSIG members would be interested in this meeting.
Gilded/polychromed furniture or even gilded frames can be classified as
functional objects, can't they? What about having joining meeting of the AICCM
Objects SIG and Gilded Objects Conservation SIG? The issues as ethics,
adaptation, treatments, protective coatings would be very interesting.
Malgorzata.
