Workshop on indigo dyed paper

Indigo dyed paper workshop with James Canary

25-27 January 2016

The 3 day practical workshop will cover the use and the making of
indigo dyed paper mainly in Eastern and Asian manuscripts.  We will
discuss the deterioration factors and current conservation
approaches.  Participants will be shown and assist in the
preparation of the dye and applying it onto different types of paper
using traditional techniques.  The group will also have the unique
opportunity to see a range of manuscripts from the Wellcome's
Collection.
