Conservator (Textiles) Imperial War Museums (IWM) London, UK 6 month contract UKP23,018 + 20.9% employer pension contribution IWM (Imperial War Museums) tells the story of people who have lived, fought and died in conflicts involving Britain and the Commonwealth from the First World War to the present day. Using its unique collections, IWM explores the causes of war and its impact on people's lives, engaging audiences worldwide through its website, digital resources and across its five branches--IWM London, IWM North, IWM Duxford, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast. We are looking for a Conservator (Textiles) to join the team at IWM to carry out the vital work of conserving the museum's collections for three forthcoming exhibitions. The post holder will be primarily responsible for the conservation, mounting and installation of costume and textile items for the American Air Museum redevelopment at IWM Duxford and exhibitions at IWM London and IWM North. The post-holder will be based primarily at IWM London but will be required to work at any of the Museum's sites as directed.
