Conservation Manager (Maternity Cover) Imperial War Museums (IWM) London, UK 6 months initially from February 2016 UKP33,371 + 20.9% employer pension contribution IWM (Imperial War Museums) tells the story of people who have lived, fought and died in conflicts involving Britain and the Commonwealth from the First World War to the present day. Using its unique collections, IWM explores the causes of war and its impact on people's lives, engaging audiences worldwide through its website, digital resources and across its five branches--IWM London, IWM North, IWM Duxford, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast. The purpose of the job is to plan and manage programmes to conserve collection material at all of IWM's five branches or at local venues. This will include overseeing external conservation contracts, and managing a team of conservators and conservation technicians. The post will also be responsible for one of the key conservation workflow strands in support of IWM's projects. This role will include the recruitment and line management of additional contract staff to deliver projects. The post is based at IWM's Lambeth Road branch but will occasionally be required to work at all branches as required.
