Conservation Manager (Maternity Cover)
Imperial War Museums (IWM)
London, UK

6 months initially from February 2016

UKP33,371 + 20.9% employer pension contribution

IWM (Imperial War Museums) tells the story of people who have lived,
fought and died in conflicts involving Britain and the Commonwealth
from the First World War to the present day. Using its unique
collections, IWM explores the causes of war and its impact on
people's lives, engaging audiences worldwide through its website,
digital resources and across its five branches--IWM London, IWM
North, IWM Duxford, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast.

The purpose of the job is to plan and manage programmes to conserve
collection material at all of IWM's five branches or at local
venues. This will include overseeing external conservation
contracts, and managing a team of conservators and conservation
technicians. The post will also be responsible for one of the key
conservation workflow strands in support of IWM's projects. This
role will include the recruitment and line management of additional
contract staff to deliver projects.

The post is based at IWM's Lambeth Road branch but will occasionally
be required to work at all branches as required.
