The National Gallery, London Photographic Conservation Technician Job reference: 1328 Part-time: 21 hours per week Fixed-term: 6 months duration (February to August 2016, start date to be confirmed) Salary: UKP21,000 per annum pro rata The National Gallery is looking for two experienced conservation technicians to surface clean and rehouse in archival enclosures approximately 10,000 B&W negatives from the Agnew's Archive, document their condition and move them in to the environmentally controlled Photographic Archive. Applicants must have conservation technician experience, preferably with photographic material, and be able to detect visible signs of deterioration such as vinegar syndrome and act in accordance with training which will be provided. They should also possess excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and be able to demonstrate evidence of manual dexterity.
