Although not used for investigating ceramics Manchester Museum have
recently studied a collection of animal mummies using and X-ray at
the University Hospital of South Manchester.  Their curator of Egypt
and Sudan, Campbell Price, was involved in the project and I am sure
he would be keen to offer advice on the process.
