Ongoing full time position

Total salary package valued up to $100,481 per annum including full
time salary range $76,675 - $90,646 plus 9.5% employer's
contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Art Gallery's Conservation department is currently seeking an
Objects Conservator Grade 2.  The role is responsible for
coordinating and undertaking preservation programs for the Gallery's
collections, internal and external exhibitions and loans in Objects
Conservation.

 What technical / soft skills you require

    Tertiary qualifications in Materials Conservation and thorough
    knowledge and understanding of the physical and chemical
    construction of artworks: chemistry, art history, artists'
    methods and materials and techniques used

    Demonstrated experience in the examination, documentation and
    treatment of works to a high standard in Objects Conservation
    along with demonstrated knowledge of current international
    standards for handling, packing, transport and display of
    artworks

Targeted questions

    Provide an example of when you have worked in a collaborative
    environment on a project with multiple deadlines.  Please
    provide details of how you managed your part of the workload to
    ensure deadlines were met (maximum of 400 words)

    Provide an example of a conservation treatment, or group of
    treatments, you have completed and discuss the treatment issues
    you faced and how they were resolved (maximum of 400 words).

Part of the assessment process may include additional online
capability testing, skills testing or work samples in accordance
with the new Government Sector Employment Act 2013, therefore you
