Summer research opportunity for US Students in the Netherlands
Northwestern University / Art Institute of Chicago Center for
    Scientific Studies in the Arts (NU-ACCESS)

The Northwestern University / Art Institute of Chicago Center for
Scientific Studies in the Arts (NU-ACCESS) is organizing a research
experience for 4 US-based graduate students and 1 undergraduate to
travel to the Netherlands from June-July, 2016 to conduct research
in Cultural Heritage Science.  This US-Netherlands international
research experience program is funded by a grant from the National
Science Foundation (IRES 1460143).

The selected science and engineering students will perform research
in one of three interrelated research themes spanning Chemistry,
Materials Science and Engineering, as well as Cultural Heritage
Science.  Over the eight week duration of the program, they will
participate in interdisciplinary seminars at the interface of
science and art and will be required to write two blog entries to
share their IRES experience.  At the conclusion of their program,
participating students will compile final project reports.
