Platinum and palladium photographs often exhibit staining caused by
residual iron from the original processing of the print. Dana
Hemmenway, Senior Photograph Conservator in the Library of Congress
Conservation Division and Matthew Clarke, Photographic Materials
Scientist at the National Gallery of Art (currently at the Freer and
Sackler Galleries), present research investigating the efficacy of
various chelators to reduce residual iron and minimize visible
staining in platinum and palladium prints.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information and
to register for remote access, please see
